In-Depth Analysis: HSCRANE Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Grab Exported to Thailand

Oct/10,2026 Author:Huasui

Project Background

In the context of rising industrialization and bulk throughput in Southeast Asia, efficient handling equipment is crucial. Ports and bulk terminals need durable machinery to boost operational efficiency. Recently, HSCRANE successfully completed the custom production and shipping of a heavy-duty hydraulic grab. This hydraulic grab is tailored for a bulk handling project in Laem Chabang, Thailand. The equipment was specially optimized for high-humidity and highly corrosive seaport environments. The entire process followed international mechanical engineering standards strictly. This demonstrates HSCRANE’s professional expertise in heavy hydraulic grab R&D and international delivery.

Scheme Design and Hydraulic Grab Technical Specifications

The Thai client mainly uses this hydraulic grab for daily ship unloading and yard transfer operations. These operations involve scrap steel and large bulk ores. The handled materials feature high hardness and strong impact force. The local climate is also characterized by high temperatures and abundant rain. Therefore, HSCRANE’s engineering team customized a high-strength, wear-resistant hydraulic grab solution. The core technical specifications of the hydraulic grab are shown in the table below:

Precision Manufacturing Process of the Hydraulic Grab

HSCRANE’s production workshop implemented standardized quality control throughout the manufacturing of the hydraulic grab. This ensures high reliability and long operational durability:

●High-strength material processing and welding: The hydraulic grab cutting edges and jaw plates use imported HARDOX wear-resistant steel. After CNC bevel processing, multi-layer submerged arc welding uses high-toughness, low-hydrogen consumables. This effectively avoids long-term impact cracks.

●Hydraulic system leak prevention and integration test: Internationally renowned electronically controlled valve blocks and double-acting cylinders were selected. The unit underwent 72-hour high-pressure continuous cycle tests and anti-burst pipe impact tests before delivery. This eliminates any leakage risks completely.

●Seaport anticorrosion coating upgrade: To combat tropical seaport salt spray environments, Sa3.0 high-intensity sandblasting was performed. Inorganic zinc-rich primer and epoxy micaceous iron oxide intermediate paint were applied. The outer layer uses highly weather-resistant fluorocarbon topcoat. The total film thickness exceeds 260 microns.

Modular Protective Packaging and Logistics Loading Scheme

HSCRANE’s logistics department implemented strict packaging specifications for the hydraulic grab. This protects precise hydraulic components from ocean transport and humid tropical climates:

●Hydraulic pipeline vacuum sealing: All hydraulic oil ports were fitted with high-pressure sealing plugs. Pipelines were filled with protective rust-inhibiting oil internally. External joints were wrapped with thick moisture-proof film and anti-collision bubble pads.

●Split structure and positioning reinforcement: The hydraulic grab shell bodies and main frame were locked with positioning pins. This prevents collision deformation during transit. Protective hard shells were added to cylinder rods to prevent scratches.

●Heavy fumigation-free container fixing: Reinforced thick steel bases meeting international logistics standards were used. The goods were loaded onto 40ft Flat Rack Containers. High-strength wire rope tensioners and locks provided dual cross-fixing.

Multimodal Sea Transport Tracking and Thailand On-Site Operational Feedback

The cargo was shipped from Qingdao Port and arrived smoothly at Laem Chabang Port, Thailand. Local heavy trucks then delivered it to the client’s site. HSCRANE’s technical team provided online remote guidance to the client’s technical staff. They completed pipeline connection, electrical control debugging, and system air venting for the hydraulic grab. Under rated load, the scrap steel grabbing efficiency increased by about 20%. The hydraulic system responded rapidly during operation. The client’s engineering director highly recognized the equipment’s biting force, corrosion protection, and delivery service. They have officially started evaluation for subsequent batch purchases.
